Now, please turn to page 44. Tell me something about your school day, OK?

■Reading and vocabulary

1 Read the text and put the pictures in order.

This text is about Alex’s school day. Alex tells us many things about his school day. When does he get up in the morning? When does he go to school? What is his school’s name? Read the text twice. For the first time, Please try to cut(断句)/ the sentences into parts, blacken(涂黑)the predicates, shade(加影)the connectives and underline(划线)the expressions.

Now write all the expressions in your Expression Book.

For the second time, read the text and put the pictures in order.

2 Match the times with the pictures in Activity1.

In Activity 1, there are six pictures. You can match the times here with these pictures. For example, when does Alex go to bed every day? He goes to bed at ten o’clock at night. When does Alex’s classmates play football every day? They play football in the break at eleven o’clock.

picture a →12:30 picture b→10:00 picture c→3:30

picture d→11:00 picture e→ 9:00 picture f→7:30

Now write: in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening.

10:00 in the morning, 3:30 in the afternoon, 7:30 in the morning, 9:00 in the morning, 11:00 in the morning, 12:30 in the afternoon

3 Check (√) the true sentences for Alex.

The following sentences are not all true. After reading the text, do you know which ones are true? Alex goes to school at half past eight, is it true or false? Does Alex play football at school? No, we learn from the text that Alex doesn’t like football. Alex talks to his friends in the break. When do Alex’s lessons finish every day? Is it at five o’clock, four o’clock or three o’clock? Check (√) the true sentences below.

I have breakfast at 7:00 in the morning.

I go to school at 8:30. (√)

I play football at 11:00.

We have meat and rice, with vegetables or hamburgers at 12:30. (√)

Lessons finish at 3:30. (√)

I do my homework at 10:00 in the evening.

Now correct the false:

I don’t have breakfast at 7:00 in the morning. I have breakfast at 7:30 in the morning.

Not I but they play football at 11:00.

I go to bed at 10:00 in the evening. So I do my homework before 10:00 in the evening.

■Writing and speaking
